Hope alive.. through tough times

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all”...Dale Carnegie

Yes, today I am here to tell you the story of a wonderful couple who tried their luck and worked hard to give new life to some plants that were struggling to even breathe. This is a story of a family of some cute pudinas that are growing now happily in a planter of the beautiful balcony of Nikhil and Prachi.

Since it’s always the best thing to learn from the success stories, so let me take you to this success story of “Hope alive… through tough times”.

It was a beautiful evening... The bright rays of the sun were starting to hide somewhere between the clouds… the beautiful flock of birds were happily returning their homes, singing as loudly as they could.

Walking down the lane, Nikhil saw a vegetable seller selling pudinas. Oh, how happy he was to see that he found something that his wife Prachi really enjoys to have in salads. Quickly he bought them and headed for home.

Oh!! Wao!! Prachi exclaimed as soon as she saw those foliages in Nikhil’s hands. She quickly washed them and started plucking its leaves one by one. But suddenly something happened!!!

Sitting on the mat, plucking the leaves, she started imagining a garden full of pudinas. Aaah!!! How lovely it seems. She had heard somewhere that Pudinas could be propagated from its stems. She looks at the left pudinas. Oh!!! So sad she was to find that the stems were not so lively. So thin, so dry, so deadly…. Would she be able to bring life to these sad-looking plants???

But then, she thought… let’s try!!!

Quickly, she washed some stems, which had few leaves on them. And went towards her balcony. Found one planter which was just sitting idly in the little place. She quickly planted them in just soil and no other fancy material. Kept the planter on the east side of their house, where the plants would not get much heat.

Every morning she would wake up and give a little water and would pray to God to give life to those almost dead stems.

Few days passed, maybe 3-4 days more than 2 weeks, like every morning she came to her balcony to water her plants. Oh!!!! Her eyes started dancing in joy, why??? Hey!!! She found some new tiny fresh green leaves in her planted pudina stems.

Quickly she ran to Nikhil to show the new babies!!! So happy they were!!!

So, this is the success story of Nikhil and Prachi’s pudina.

What did we learn?

  1. Yes, we can grow these great plants from our grocery shopping. Great news!!! yuhuuu!!!

  2. Just simple soil is enough to grow pudina from stems.

  3. In their growing time, keep them in a place where they would not get direct sunlight for a long period of time.

  4. Little amount but regular watering is important.

  5. And most importantly, we should have to believe in our work. Most of the things in this world are achieved only when we have faith in ourselves.

I was inspired by them, so did the same :-)
